The word "Freaky" could be interpreted in many different ways. I associate this word with my childhood.
Born in Sweden to Iranian immigrants made me feel different compared to my friends. I had this feeling of unbelonging that I could not get rid of. Traveling to Iran for family visits, I thought that the feeling of unbelonging would disappear. But as soon as I opened my mouth to communicate, I realized that I did not belong there either. Being stuck between two cultures made me feel like an outsider, like a freak.
Thankfully, with the years I managed to transform that feeling of unbelonging into something positive. To be different is to be unique. I would rather be a freak than normal. This is the spirit that Freaky Sauces is built on. We believe in celebrating cultural differences and turning them into synergies.
I am very proud that our first two sauces, Saffron & Rose and Lingon & Blueberry embrace the two cultural dragging points that shaped my childhood.
